![]() ![]() I played a custom game.Uber Entertainment (prior to August 18, 2018) P.S I'm not talking about galactic war AI. but neither is the AI anywhere near close to putting up a fight. some anti-orbital and health so low that basic artillery defense will wipe them out? Again read this last paragraph with scrutiny though, I'm not exactly a master at this game. The AI builds bots too much and in too few quantity in a game where tanks rule the lands as they get AA and heavy firepower (as well as the objectively best titan in the game) as well as a deadly hard to stop mobile nuke. The AI is built on the premise of being able to see everything at any time (it will always know where your units are and aren't) but the unit pathfinding and balance is just too weak for the game to sort it out. The game's internal logic and AI just aren't very smart. To be fair I don't think its Sorian's fault. That means 2/3 of the time I was doing nothing. I literally have never played a full session for months now and I still beat it and I don't even know basic things like how to infinite queue units or meta data. I don't see how a game that has an AI that can give someone who barely plays no trouble at all is a smart or effective AI. I gave it double resource advantage too (i.e 2X at the start screen). Meanwhile I built up so many tanks and AA and titans that I just steamrolled it. 26 minutes in and I didn't see it build anything at all. The AI also takes an absurd amount of time to build titans. especially now with the raised terrain that makes the stupid AI of the turrets even stupider. Still though he should teach the AI to use defenses, because all I see are the crappy laser turrets and those are never as efficient as artillery guns. ![]() I'm sure Sorian didn't make the AI cheat though, he's kinda good at not doing that. I don't see it making too many energy generators either. It also seems to cheat at least on absurd and relentless because it builds way more units despite controlling very little of the map and not having T2 extractors. The AI also has issues with expansion, it doesn't expand anywhere near fast enough and since it builds factories without reason, it doesn't bother to defend its mass extractors. even if it means going through dozens of AA batteries (at least they take out my bomber though). The AI gets Tier 2 way too late and cheats by seeing the entire map and I know this because on absurd it always sends interceptors in to attack any bombers I build. The new AI always uses hovertanks but the hovertanks are not efficient on land. ![]() It builds factories everywhere even when its using those factories to pump out units that aren't making any impact. I don't want to insult Sorian since his work is generally considered good but the AI in Planetary Annhilation has no concept of intelligence. No worries there is no real campaign so your safe. Though all it really knows how to do is rush. I know the huge time it took for them to get water planets so a navy was useful but if this game was suposed to be the successor to Total Annihilation PA fell hugely short and this is more like SubCOmmanderĪs for AI go to uber boards they brag about what a good AI sorian built.
